{HEART from L'Atelier de Marie-Anne}

From Blogger Friend Marie-Anne in Greece, I did receive this beatiful HEART! Marie-Anne writes the fabulous blog: L'Atelier de Marie-Anne (just click) and she is quite an artist in making all kinds of crackle effect découpage on different mediums like glass, tin or wood. With Roses and Angels, also Hearts are very special to me!
Here is the Wooden Découpage Heart from Marie-Anne.
Lovely roses with sweet satin ribbons...
THANK you so much dear FRIEND!
A spontaneous Gift, all the way from Greece!
Lovely handwriting by this French born and well traveled blogger friend Marie-Anne...
The backside of this lovely wooden heart shows the crackle effect découpage very well with some more lovely roses and butterflies.
Do you like Anne-Marie's découpage artwork?

  8. Good Morning Mariette, The most wonderful gifts are the unexpected gifts. You must have been thrilled to receive Anne Marie's gift when it arrived at your door. Anne Marie's decoupage and crackle glaze work is beautiful and yes you are right, she is a very talented lady. Have you decided where you will hang this pretty heart? I think I would hang it somewhere where I would see it everyday.
    Best Wishes to you.

Good morning to you; when you read this reply... Unexpected gifts do lift ones soul up in a very special way. This was perfect inded and with her sweet card for Christmas it made for a festive day. Anne Marie has the rare gift of turning something old or vintage into a striking new object d'art with her perfect technique of découpage and crackle glaze finish. On her blog she has shown us incredible pieces. This will go no doubt to our Rose Suite and one day I might show it again...
      Hugs to you,
      Mariette

Oh, India is a country I could write books about... so glad that you are quite enamored with this fabulous country and its diverse but very spicy cuisine. We did work there for a little more than a decade and always loved it. Especially the home cooked meals at the home of the managers were so special.
Happy new week to you as well.

Oh, the heart indeed was the main gift but als-o her beautifully hand written card was quite a gift. But you should not apologize for not being able to write like Anne-Marie. Having managed your very unique and artful Japanese characters is kind a distance to bridge from the Roman alphabet. Therefore I admire all Japanese who manage English, or any other Roman alphabet language the way you DO! Like Miyako and even Michiko, considering her severe brain injury; they all do very well and far better than my Japanese.
      Hugs,
      Mariette

You are quite welcome; that is only a minor pay-back for your generous token of friendship and love across the ocean!
That indeed was a big surprise and even Pieter LOVED it; he's more and more reading all the comments and getting to know my international virtual friends. It is a very fine group of friends indeed. Okay, we have to admit that we are all from a very selected group, by interest, value and lifestyle but nevertheless the support we at times can send across the miles is incredible!

Thank you dear friend and no doubt I do enjoy this special gift! As for the weather, we're still about two months away from nice weather. Now it goes up and down and we will have a couple of nights with -5ºC and even -7ºC. Therefore this is the time to complete other chores and when it turns into steady spring weather, we will be outdoors a lot you bet!
